Yacht Sailing in Nelson
If you prefer your boat to be a bit bigger, with room to sit on deck with a G&T, then check out www.sailnelson.co.nz. Chris Roff of Sail Nelson provides RYA (Royal Yachting Association) instruction and charter on their yacht Manaia.
Get a taste for yachting on a RYA Start Yachting Course. Then progress on to the RYA Competent Crew, RYA Dayskipper, and RYA Coastal Skipper courses to develop your skills.
Once you are a practised skipper and have got some sea miles under your belt, take the RYA Yachtmaster course and exam. This will give you the necessary skills and knowledge to competently skipper a yacht in coastal waters anywhere in the world, including night passages.
All courses are run by qualified and experienced RYA Instructors, and the certificates are the most internationally recognised yachting qualifications in the world.
If it is Yacht Charter that you are after, then Sail Nelson can tailor a charter package to suit your needs. Anything from a two hour jaunt, a sunset sail around the Nelson harbour or a full day’s sailing for a maximum of eight people.
If you are after a holiday with a difference you can book MANAIA for live-aboard charter for up to five people for as long as it suits you.
